Price list format: what to put on it
A price list is not a tax document, but buyers rely on it. A clear one saves you questions at the counter and disputes about old prices.
On top
- Business name, address, phone and GSTIN (if registered).
- A title: "Price list", "Wholesale price list", "Dealer price list".
- Valid from date, so everyone knows which list is the newest.
For every item
| # | Item | Unit | MRP | Retail |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Steel water bottle 1 L | pcs | 399.00 | 349.00 |
| 2 | Lunch box 3 tier | pcs | 650.00 | 575.00 |
| 3 | Basmati rice (loose) | kg | 120.00 |
Add the code or HSN if your buyers order by code, and the GST rate if they are businesses that want to see it.
At the bottom
- GST note: "Prices include GST" or "GST extra as applicable". Never leave buyers guessing.
- Your terms if any: minimum order, delivery, payment terms.
Different lists for different buyers
Many businesses keep one list for counter customers (MRP and retail) and another for dealers (wholesale). In our maker, untick the retail column and tick wholesale, or untick items, then print again. The purchase price column is for your own use; the maker warns you when it is ticked, so you do not send it to a customer by mistake.
A price list is an offer, not a bill. When you sell, give a proper tax invoice or bill of supply; billing.niveshsahayak.in uses the same saved prices.
